‘We Have Always Lived in the Castle’ is based on Shirley Jackson’s 1962 novel, which was optioned for screen by Michael Douglas’ production company Further Films.
It tells the story of the Blackwood family, narrated by 18-year-old Mary Katherine “Merricat” Blackwood. Merricat, her elder sister Constance and their wheelchair bound Uncle Julian live in a large house on rambling, tumbledown grounds, in isolation from the nearby village. Merricat just wants to preserve their delicate way of life, but when cousin Charlie arrives armed with overtures of friendship and a desperate need to get into the safe, she must do everything in her power to protect the remaining family.
Filming took place in Wicklow and Dublin from August to September 2016 and was directed by Stacie Passion. It stars Sebastian Stan, Taissa Farmiga, Alexandra Daddario and Crispin Glover.
Written by Andy Briggs, ‘Supervized’ is about a group of formerly internationally renowned superheroes living out their twilight years in a nursing home in Ireland. Some are more content with this arrangement than others, and when Ray (‘Justice Man’) puts forward a startling conspiracy theory, he gets a largely doubtful response from his former sidekick Ted (‘Shimmer Man’), constant competitor Pendle (‘Total Thunder’) and past lover Madera (‘Moonlight’).
Directed by Steve Barron, filming for ‘Supervized’ took place in Dublin and Wicklow from June to July 2017. It stars Tom Berenger, Beau Bridges, Louis Gossett Jr, Fionnula Flanagan and Fiona Glascott.
